DE KOFFIEMANN: COFFEE FROM THE BREMEN REGION

Bremen residents are definitely familiar with it: the small, tranquil town of Lilienthal in the Bremen hinterland.
Just 11 kilometers from Bremen's city center, where Aromatico is located, lies Lilienthal - the roasting site of de koffiemann.

ARTISAN COFFEE BLENDS

At de koffiemann, traditional artisan roasting still takes place. In a slow and gentle way, the coffee beans are processed into the delicious blends during a long-term roasting in a small drum roaster. Each coffee blend receives its own individual treatment, because the roaster's job is to shape the character of the blends, while the growing region with the appropriate climate creates the basis for the personality of the coffee blend. This is the only way to create the unmistakable taste of each blend. Thanks to the long-term roasting with a duration of 12-15 minutes, far more than 800 aromatic substances can unfold. Excess bitter substances are also removed from the beans in this way.

Lovers of a full and intense aroma will get their money's worth with the blend "MY ESPRESSO". Coffee fans of a mild 100% Arabica blend from Brazil and Honduras will hit the bull's eye with "MEIN MILDER".

PRUDENCE FROM CULTIVATION TO SALE

De koffiemann uses only fairly traded coffee beans from 19 selected growing regions. Some blends also bear the organic seal for ecological cultivation of the coffee beans. The roastery is committed to using its proceeds to support six social projects in the local growing regions.

HOW IT ALL BEGAN

Helmut Dotschat, who began his career in the coffee business as a green coffee importer, finally took the step of founding his own roasting company in 2009. From the very beginning, the motivation behind this was to roast a high-quality coffee that was, above all, fairly traded. Today, his daughter Cornelia Dotschat runs the family business - Kaffeerösterei de koffiemann GmbH.
